Time management - make the most of your time!

Making some simple adjustments to your schedule creates opportunities for incremental productivity gains, regardless of your industry. We have listed some of these adjustments below:

Learn how to get a grip on your day, and work efficiently and productively with the following time management tips:

  • Plan your time in advance - Both daily and weekly, it's important to sit down and create to-do lists ahead of time. Trello can help you there :)

  • Set attainable goals - keep your big goals written down. Then, break them out into small daily attainable tasks that put you on the path towards your bigger ones.
  • Do your least favorite tasks first - You'll be more likely to work fast to get it done by starting your day out with this, and you won't have to look at your to-do list despising it any longer!
  • Save mornings for the most important tasks - prioritize the most important things and begin your day by checking these items off first thing in the morning (as well as your least favorite task) while you're full of energy after a full night's rest.

  • Create an organizational system - reduce the clutter and chaos around you. It could even be worthwhile to spend half a day getting everything in order to boost your productivity in the long run.
  • Eliminate distractions - If you find that you can't control yourself from distractions alone, turn to an app that can do that for you. Rescue Time and Freedom are two apps that work great for blocking distracting websites and applications:

  • Stop multitasking -You'll get so much more done if you're just present with one task at a time. Try to finish one thing before you move on to the next.
  • Stay healthy - try to get a full night's sleep, maintain a balanced and nutritious diet, and some sort of physical activity throughout your day. This will help you stay in shape and sharp both physically and mentally;)
  • Use the 80/20 rule - To maximize efficiency, highly productive people identify the most important 20% of their work. Then, they look at ways to cut down the other 80% of their schedule. Or, for example, allocate most of your time to tasks that are not difficult for you, but a part to the least favorite ones.
