Is it time?

Kenny Rogers had a famous song: You gotta know when to hold ‘em and know when to fold ‘em.
Every now and then we face a decision in business or on important projects: Keep pushing ahead or throw in the towel.
I started researching why we sometimes keep going and other times say, I’ve had enough, for whatever reason.
Here’s some of what I found that can be the cause of this indecision:
I can’t tell you how many times in my business career I wanted to quit. I know I’m not alone.
Why was I putting myself through this? I looked at every one of the items I just listed. And the thing that always helped me make the decision to stay the course or sail in another direction, was my “why.”
Your why is your reason for continuing down the path. It could be money, fame, building a great business, or making a difference in the world. We each have our own. But if your why is strong enough, your Go-No-Go decision will be easier to make.
Samuel Johnson said,
You don’t know how tall you are until you’re in over your head.
I agree but would add, the overarching goal is not to drown.
So, how about you? Got any big decisions tearing you in a couple of directions?
If so, here’s your Action Item and Mission, should you decide to accept it: Take a step back and review your why. Nobody can help you with this one. Sit quietly and just ask yourself, what do you really want? What matters most? It may take a couple of sittings but don’t give up. Because when you do make your decision you’ll be crystal clear on why you’re making it.
My why(s) got me through many decisions I thought would sink me. But I’m living proof that getting this concept straight in your mind will bring you peace, and confidence.
So many business Founders, entrepreneurs, and all types of business people struggle with this. PLEASE share this post. When you share, you never know whom you’ll help. And maybe this act of helping will become part of your why. Remember, one hand washes the other and together they get clean. Thank you for watching. Have a really rewarding week. And I’ll see you next time.
