Time to Introspect

These three pictures represent today's India. It doesn't matter at all which of these deceased is a Hindu and which one is a Muslim, what matters is that an innocent child has lost his father and a helpless mother has lost her son. And what should matter THE MOST to EACH ONE OF US is the third picture, it was shared by an educated woman in a social group, a group that consists of women who probably belong to the highest echelon of Indian social strata, society that is rich, educated, empowered and successful. my wife is in that group, she objected to this and I'm proud that she did. She showed me the reply, where she called out the sickness of that lady's thoughts, her response was that you too posted a meme of President Trump a few days back. We lost 40+ Indians for God Sake and we have the wickedness to celebrate this? Calling it Indian Tradition?
I later learnt that unfortunately, no one else in the group spoke (except a couple of ladies). NO ONE !!!
Those of you, who cannot read Hindi, it says "when there's guest at home and children misbehave, they get a real thrashing after the guest leaves, this is the tradition of India, Don't Forget #DelhiRiots, guest here is President Trump and Children we know who they are!
It is time to pause and ask ourselves, are we not a party to this nonsense? If we really wish to celebrate something then let's go and celebrate those who did not bother about their own safety and saved lives of people who do not pray to the same god as they do. We will find them in abundance, far more than those perpetrators of violence.
Those saviors of humanity uphold the real tradition of India, NOT US, the privileged and perverted people !!!

4 年With respect I have a different Point of view, it does matter who died and who Killed, if the perpetrators are not brought to book they will continue and there are many many many who will provide the impetus for them to continue, for their narrow objectives, be it politicians, be it religious figures be it the Antisocial elements and MOST importantly the common people who just watch it, make videos and circulate v/s not getting swayed by the above three and stop the massacre in whatever small way they can or just don't entertain them and participate in it

4 年This is truly heartbreaking — thanks for using LinkedIn to spread awareness around Delhi Riots; otherwise this platform which is the most global one remains all about networking, finding jobs or exchanging expertise and knowledge. I have never seen the capital so tense since 1984 :(

4 年Ishteyaque Amjad, this was a hard post to read. I am saddened to hear of what is happening in India and what transpired during the President’s visit there. I also appreciate you for taking a stance against discrimination and the discriminatory language that is so prevalent on social media. It seems social media is equally responsible for a new callousness as it is for new connectedness. Finally, I respect you for using your position as a global business leader to speak out against discrimination and hate speech. My Bible talks about the responsibility those who have been given many blessings must bear. I know the Vedas and the Koran probably speak of the same things. We have so much to learn from one another. I hope you are well, old friend.
