That time I wrote a Children's Book... From Customer Experience to Parent-Child Experience
There are many great children's books. Few books attempt celebrate the role of parents and transform the mundane into the extraordinary like this.

That time I wrote a Children's Book... From Customer Experience to Parent-Child Experience

If I was ever to become an author, I always pictured writing business/marketing book, or a book that would examine trends in culture. A few years ago an opportunity came my way to help develop and launch a book.

While the book was not the business or marketing book I always wanted to write, it very much was an opportunity to focus on culture.

And the "cultural topic" was, a children's book... about 'everyday stuff' ??

My Mom the Superhero. By Keith Hanks

Inspiration for Writing

I look around and see a shifting role of parents. Whether said publicly, or kept silent, many parents are struggling to find the time they want with their children. Through professional demands, and changing family structures, the window of time for quality interactions between school-and-dinner, and dinner-and-bedtime can be a very narrow window.

In many way, the 3-row SUV has become the new dining room table to hold conversations.

"My Mom the Superhero" celebrates all the little things parents do to ensure children have the best day possible. This story may closely resemble an average weekend day for you, and that's the goal.

Written with natural pauses, and featuring crisp illustrations, each time you read "My Mom the Superhero" you'll have an opportunity to discuss what happened today, and what your plans look like tomorrow.

The Plot

Join Christy, and her children Sarah and Mason for an action-packed day as they work through today's goals. There's a lot of errands, chores, and projects that need to be complete. Start with breakfast, and continue with a soccer game, trip home for lunch, science project setup, and a rewarding trip to the park.

But remember, just as in in real life, in "Mom Mom the Superhero" things don't always go as planned, and sometimes the ultimate superhero is a real life parent.

Always been proud of this story. More of a passion project. Would love the opportunity to help this book and approach to storytelling reach its full potential.

What a beautiful way to celebrate the everyday heroism of parents! It’s amazing how a simple story like this can highlight the meaningful, everyday moments that shape our relationships with our children.
