A TIME TO HIDE.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

THEME: A TIME TO HIDE.

MEMORY VERSE:

“Come, My People, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.” Isaiah 26:20

READING: Proverbs 22:3-5

3? A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.

4? By humility and the fear of The Lord are riches, and honour, and life.

5? Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them.

 MESSAGE:

A.  Our Bible Reading for today tell s us clearly that there is A TIME TO HIDE!

1? Exodus 2:1-2 says “And a man of the house of Levi went and took as wife a daughter of Levi. So the woman conceived and bore a son. And when she saw that he was a beautiful child, she hid him three months.”

2? Moses was born at a time when all male children born to the nation of Israel were to be killed, So his mother hid him. 

3? If she had not hidden him for those three months, he would have been killed and his purpose for coming to earth would have been truncated. There is A TIME TO HIDE!!

4? Exodus 12:21-23 Says “Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel and said to them, “Pick out and take lambs for yourselves according to your families, and kill the Passover lamb. 

5? And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin. And none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning. 

6? For The LORD will pass through to strike the Egyptians; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, The LORD will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.”

7? The Almighty God told the children of Israel that He would be visiting Egypt that night. 

8? He asked them to hide in their homes and not come out. 9? Oh yes, The God we serve is The Almighty God, but He Himself says there is A TIME TO HIDE!

B? In 1 Kings 17:1-3: Elijah Proclaims a Drought.

“And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the LORD God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word.”

1? Then The Word of The LORD came to him, saying, “Get away from here and turn eastward, and hide by the Brook Cherith, which flows into the Jordan.”

2? After Elijah went before Ahab and prophesied that there would be no rain or dew

until he called for it, God told him to hide. 

3? The Word of God says there is A TIME TO HIDE!.

4? When I was much younger, my father declined an invitation to join a particular political party because the principal of my school belonged to an opposing party and he didn't want that to cause problems for me. 

5? The party members said "Oh, so it is because of this boy that you won't join us. 

6? Let us see how old the boy will be before he dies". 

7? He came home, told us and I ran. I was in hiding for thirteen years. 

8? If I hadn't fled then, you probably would not be reading from me today. There is A TIME TO HIDE.

C.  There is also A TIME TO COME OUT OF HIDING. 

1? In Exodus 3:1-12:Moses at the Burning Bush:

“Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. 

2? And The Angel of The LORD appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. 

3? Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.”

4? So when the LORD saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!”And he said, “Here I am.”

5? Then He said, “Do not draw near this place. Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.” Moreover He said, “I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” 6? And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.

And the LORD said: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians.

7? And to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites. Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”

8? But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” So He said, “I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”

9? After Moses had been hiding for forty years from Pharaoh, God came and told him that it was TIME TO COME OUT?

D.   In 1 Kings 18:1, the Almighty God said to Elijah "Go, shew thyself unto Ahab". 

1? I want to believe God for any user of this devotional whose star has been hidden up until this moment that from today, your star will begin to shine. 

2? God has a timetable for each individual; you have to be in constant communion with Him to know what season of your life you are in per time 

3? Ecclesiastes 3:1 Says Everything Has Its Time:

“To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under Heaven:”

 4? Jesus worked by God's Timetable for Him. 

5? He stayed in hiding for thirty years until it was time to come out. 

6? Don't come out before your time. 

7? Some people feel that because they can preach then they should start a Church. 

8? Some think that because they can compose songs then it is time to release an album. 

9? God has a timetable for you. If you come out when you should be hiding, your star could be crushed. 

10? Stay in constant communion with God so that when He says "Hide ", you hide and when He says "Come Out'', you come out.

KEY POINT:

If you come out when you should be hiding, your star could be crushed.
