It is Time for Healing

It is Time for Healing

I don't usually speak of "healing" because the word is often overstretched, and far too often even condescendingly abused, but here, in the case of the US and Joe Bidens call for action, I agree completely:

It is time for healing.

Polarizations in the communicative giant waves run according to very simple motives:

It is about authority, power of the same mass, fear and suspicion.

If such a drive is additionally triggered and fueld from above, as is the case with right-wing extremism, opportunism, and in the United States even with President Trump and his administration, the inner rift that already exists due to dependency conditioning(,) poverty, and poor education is deepened many times over.

In such cases morality is what the masses dictate.

It is therefore, as the German government's Transatlantic Coordinator Peter Beyer so aptly put it today, time to "...strengthen transatlantic relations, but not with the text modules of the past".

It is a matter of practicing and promoting decency, character, and constructive community thinking. It is therefore also about considering within one's own peer groups, in one's own community, in one's own country, that those who are confused by the toxicity of social media and no longer know how to distinguish facts from superstition are to be recognized as people who are confused and not to fuel inner enmity by increasing the thinking of demarcation.

The text modules of the past show no consideration for good will, for common endeavour - and certainly not for the great crises of our time, which we can only overcome as a strong community of solidarity with equally strong adult individuals.

It is therefore not only time to communicate more constructively, but also to help each other to develop greater resilience. This includes working on an education system that enables people to grasp the complexities of our time in a conceptual way.

We cannot force empathy and constructive thinking into other people. Nor can we assume that our own model of the world is the last word of wisdom. Free democratic constitutional states live from otherness. Therefore, healing must include, besides the constructive approach, developing a thicker skin, not always taking everything personally, and comprehending that creative, higher dimensional conflicts create greater possibilities than one-dimensional ones - whether they are switched to "constructive" or to "destructive".

We are talking about social media competence here. We are talking about the ability to swing to the other side of the dimension to gain momentum there, so that the other can also swing higher up. We are talking about learning to forgive those who cannot yet do so, because people can only take responsibility for what they can take responsibility for. Only when they can take responsibility for something, we can hold them responsible.

We have to realize that as a global world society we have not even reached the point where we are stable enough to manage complexity at level 2. Technologically, we are facing this challenge, but humanly, we are at level 0 and 1, and the few who can manage complexity at a higher level are more likely to be seen as a threat.

This understanding of our own development is fundamentally necessary to understand that there is little point in blaming others for stupidity caused by our own educational systems, our own conditioning programs.

Rather, it is necessary to accept these problems as challenges and to tackle one of the most important steps to overcome the problems in pandemics and the climate crisis: a fundamental and global reform of educational policies and platforms.

If we fail to do this, we may be able to use empathy and a constructive style of communication to put plasters on the wounds that have been torn open by hatred and the thinking of separation, but we will not be able to heal the problems themselves because they go deeper.

Instead, and/or in addition, we must tackle the fundamentally human problem from two sides:

  1. that we create prosperity and security for all, and I mean "all",
  2. that we make sure that everyone can emancipate herself in her individual semio-sphere.
