Time to get walking

Did you know it is National Walking Month ? Organised by Living Streets this is a fantastic initiative (even better is their mission of course "...to achieve a better walking environment and inspire people to walk more.") as we finally edge into more sunny days. This is our moment to get outdoors, to embrace the health and wellbeing benefits of being in nature, and quite simply - walking #walkthismay .

So.. perfect timing to finally launch The Bath 5k Map initiative ??.

An original beautifully illustrated map designed by Bristol based artist?Ellie Shipman ?will accompany a website of walks to encourage exploration of the city and countryside.?100% of profits from the sale of each map will be in support of Mentoring Plus and Off the Record supporting the mental health of our young people in Bath.?

This is a shameless plug for the crowdfunder , please promote to local friends ??. If you aren't local but love to support just click to donate £20 !

We have an opportunity for Bath-based businesses to sponsor us so please do share the fundraising page with them or let me know - particularly keen for health and wellness focused businesses ??.

People to celebrate

Clearly I am celebrating Ellie Shipman this week for being an incredible design partner and bringing my mad idea to life! Also for Ruth Keily for inviting us to be with the Youth Reps at Mentoring Plus this week - we had so much fun creating personal walking maps!

Tech for Good South West has also been busy, and the best time spent onboarding Emma Millington to join our organising team - so delighted for this Emma ??. The podcast continues and loved the conversation with John Bradford and all things coding clubs in Bristol with DigiLocal CIO , we will release the episode in a couple of weeks!

Weekly reflection

At Dot Project this week has been very full providing mentoring calls to a number of Bristol-based organisations who are applying for digital resilience funding to the Community Resilience Fund . This has deeply reiterated for me the absolute fundamental need for impartial support, advice and guidance for the most basic needs of any organisation - laptops, desktops, printers, software licensing and IT support. I would love to see more resources and help out there to just make this significantly easier both to understand, but also access.

What's coming up

Spread the word to hear the introduction to technologyvolunteers.org , a Bristol-based initiative tackling the tech volunteers agenda and supporting charities, communities and schools.

Wednesday 10 May, online ?? https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/626034625417

I would love to host an intro to Chat GPT for small charities if anyone is keen to support let me know!

Until next time,

Annie x
