Time to Get Back To Work

Today is my 5th day in the Dominican Republic already! My body still hasn't shifted to Eastern time. I never had this issue before where my body didn't want to acclimate to the new time, but there it is.

It is very hot here in Santo Domingo - hotter and more humid than Israel was - though to be fair I am located within a block or so of the beach where I was located on top of Mount Carmel while I was in Israel giving us a hot sun with a breeze most days.

Today is my first real workday as I have a client session in the morning and meetings throughout the rest of the day. I guess it is about time I got back to work after all the running around to get logistics in place, forever grateful to my new friend here in the DR who helped me with getting all that stuff done in the first place given that not many people in the stores and banks speak English.

It will feel great to get back to doing what I love to do the most, which is servicing my truly fabulous clients. If there is one thing that I have learned in life it is that the work you do matters more than most people realize. Too many people stick with jobs that they find unfulfilling and worse, bullying grounds not realizing the amount of stress they are under every day at work. In my case, I determined ages ago that I would not subject myself to those conditions. But, it does indeed take time to figure out what one's 'right work' is in many cases. You know that you are doing the 'right work' for you when it comes easily to you, yet there are aspects that are challenging to keep you growing as a professional. You know that you are doing your 'right work' when you are looking forward to doing it each and every day.

It will feel great to interact once again with my clients all of them happy that I made it to my next destination so we could continue our work together hopefully with a much better Wifi connection than what I was working within the dorms at the University of Haifa. It seemed the longer I was there the worse the service got. One of these days, I will go back to doing actual FB Lives because I miss doing them - I learn as much as you do each time I tackle a subject that I have enough of an interest in to share with you. However, there is another issue here in the DR, and that is the fact that the electricity does go out. The hotel has a generator to cover such times because there is a need for the air conditioning for the guests to be comfortable - but it takes a few minutes for it to roll over. So, we shall see how it all works out.

Learning: Even when one is on a new adventure, when one truly enjoys one's work, getting back to doing it is something to be looked forward to.
