Time-Flight 2021: My Reflections

On a flight from Point A to Point B, there is objectivity … all passengers cover the same distance, are flying at the same altitude, and face the same weather adversities.?
But there is subjectivity too … each passenger is going through their own experience …. someone is looking forward to meeting their family on reaching Point B, someone is in pain and preparing themselves to face a dying relative, someone else is charged up to crack a business deal and yet another is excited about the holiday they are going for.?
Exactly, in the same way, every year including 2021, is like a ‘Time Flight’ …. with objectivity … the same 365 days …. from Point A, the 1st of January to Point B, the 31st December … same for all 7 billion people on planet earth.?
Yet there are 7 billion subjective experiences of the same 365 days. Each one has their own journey within the journey.?
Here’s how my ‘Time-Flight 2021’ was:
A) For a person like me who lives out of the suitcase, who used to take an average of 150-250 flights a year, Covid cut my wings off ?? and literally grounded me last year, in 2020 (staying grounded in life … always work in progress ??).?
This year in 2021, when things started opening up, I have taken no more than 10 flights.?
I realized that each one of us has the power and the potential to adapt to and make the most?out of whatever situation we are in if we decide to make that shift internally.
“Change your vision and your vision will change you.”
B) I decided to work on the one thing that gets absolutely neglected when we travel too much … fitness (not that I didn’t care for it, but it wasn’t easy at all)?
If we value something, that becomes our priority.
Our priority is what we give attention to.
What we give attention to, is where we invest our energy.
And what we focus our energy on, is where transformation happens.?

Got a personal trainer in Feb 2021 …. Working out 5 days a week, every week.?Still, a long way to go to the set goal.?
But what I did gain in 2021 for my fitness goals, is discipline, steadfastness, commitment, and focus.?
“Wherever attention goes, energy flows.”?
C) In April this year, I lost one full month to Covid. Was so drained, that workout obviously didn’t work out ??.?
The mind was saying we ‘may’ start in ‘May’ ????. Somehow got out of the “may” mode to the “just do it” mode again and tried to give my best!?
And then in September, lost another month because of a muscle tear … workout ???
Got back up again in October and have kept going up until now.
There will always be obstacles on our path. As long as there are no excuses and justifications, we are sorted. ?
Multiple obstacles in the form of rocks and boulders come on the path of a river but the river doesn’t stop flowing. It goes above, below. over or around the rock, but it keeps going.?
No one is responsible for my transformation but me.?
No one is responsible for my growth but me.?
No one is responsible for my success but for me.?
No one is responsible for my happiness but me.?
No excuses, no blame game … only personal responsibility!

Other aspects of my life and work?have been going on in full swing of course.?But thought I would share, what was being neglected and what I did about it. Excited about a powerful and transforming?2022 as well.
What were your reflections from 2021? How did this year treat you? What was your major takeaway from your “Time-Flight 21?”?Let me know in the comments ??

3 年This year for me was a roller coaster ride of emotions. Had been juggling between so many thoughts inside and out, doubting on my self worth, compromising my happiness for sake of others, underestimating my value. However as it's said, difficulties comes to make you more powerful and strong. Today I am confident enough to say that I am a powerful and strong person who will face challenges by looking straight into its eyes. I am hoping that the coming year brings out the real me in front of the world and I continue my passion of being best version of myself.

3 年I loved the entire article but the best part about it was ‘how a person should understand that they are responsible for each and everything in their life actively or passively’.. Only things that are not under our control are outside unknown situations and other people deeds.. But taking responsibility for our life is the best gift someone can give to themselves..????

3 年Insightful article ?????? Gaur Gopal Das ji My takeaways/reflections from #2021 are: 1. I’ve learnt to make peace with myself. 2. Started allotting more time for introspection (Before somebody else points out our mistakes, it’s always better to learn/realise on our own) 3. Learnt to keep patience & adopted an observer’s attitude towards incidents in my life ( earlier this part was terribly missing in me) 4. Total surrender to Shri Krishna ( Now I feel totally at peace… internally as well as externally) 5. Fitness has always remained on my top priority list.?
