Time flies when you are busy!

This week marks my first work anniversary at Boyden. Anniversaries have always had this special impact on me because they make me halt briefly and think of the days gone by.

Returning to an office environment, surprisingly, was a welcome change for me. It had been over a year of continuous work from home and we surely were in the midst of the pandemic. I skipped taking public transit and instead, I drove to downtown and this me time was an added perk??

I was asked if moving to Executive Search meant doing very different work (having worked solely in the field of I.T. recruitment) and I found myself giving a yes and no answer.

Yes, it is different mainly because the pace of hiring varies. I do not have to find talent 48 hours after getting the client’s request. ??

And it is quite similar because I am still interacting with kind humans!

I am now a polite messenger who comes with great news of an awesome opportunity and very often, one that the other individual had never thought about. Serendipity! Until a few years ago, meant the name of a likeable rom-com and today, I see myself play a key role in enabling change and helping people make a career move and hopefully, get to see that it brings them joy.

Kindness always begets kindness and that has been my mantra from day one. People might forget your name or your face but are quite likely to remember conversations that they’ve had with you and that’s the fundamental principle that guides me in my work. ??

Wisdom and humility matters more than ever and are now traits that I value immensely.

It takes a village and great work is accomplished by true teamwork. I am grateful to my ever-supportive colleagues.
