TIME FLIES

TIME FLIES

This guy I met When I was travelling to Manali in the Amritsar train, Mr. Sathwinder Paaji was returning from his work (business) to his village while I was going to my trip. I was not knowing him at that time and when I wanted to use the restroom, he said to me, "You go to the restroom, don't worry," but I was afraid to go because he was still a stranger to me. His expression was showing signs of hostility, so I tried to avoid speaking to him while he was sitting next to me.

Meanwhile, he noticed that I had my wallet on the seat in my bag, so he said, "I hope you are not carrying cash." When he saw that I had?5k with me, he asked, "Why are you carrying so much cash in a train journey at night when some people might take it from you?" he said, "Keep it safe in your bag." It was kind of him, I also had my own food, but it was not fresh due to the weather, so Sathwinder Paaji noticed and shared his food with me, after this we exchanged numbers and made a pledge to reconnect and visit his town one day. He then began to share experiences from his life, which really interested me because he was quite open about everything.

It's been three years since I've not met him in person. He was a stranger to me who offered food, took care of my seat, and was there like an older brother, which was really kind of him.

I was unable to contact anyone for two years afte corona, because everything was shut down and everyone was in difficulty., Today I realised that its been 3 years now and I still not mate him in person, he was a stranger for me who offered food, took care of my seat and was there like a elder brother, which was really kind of him.

I spoke with this man on the phone a couple of times over the last year, and throughout our conversations, he talked to me about his family, including his wife and children. He is still polite and friendly, which truly convinced me that individuals don't change with time; rather, it's our views. Having no friends in the compartment while travelling to Manali allowed me to establish connections and maintain a strong relationship, which is uncommon these days. I treasured the experience I had on the train. Although I can't go back and relive those times, I can write about them to preserve the memories.

'Time flies over us, but leaves its shadow behind'.
