Is your website user-friendly? ??
We all want to offer our website visitors a seamless user experience (UX). Not only is it necessary to decrease bounce rates and drop-offs so that you rank higher on search engines, a good UX is crucial for the long-term success of your brand!
Google has announced that it will start using a new ranking signal to measure UX of websites and individual pages in 2021.
The system, called Page Experience, covers different areas of a user’s journey from loading, interacting, to safety and security.

What do these metrics mean for marketers?
According to Google,
- Largest Contentful Paint (LCP): measures loading performance. To provide a good user experience, LCP should occur within 2.5 seconds of when the page first starts loading.
- First Input Delay (FID): measures interactivity. To provide a good user experience, pages should have a FID of less than 100 milliseconds.
- Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS): measures visual stability. To provide a good user experience, pages should maintain a CLS of less than 0.1.
Each metric is defined by different benchmarks, so you’re well aware of the issues that you need to fix on your website.
