Timer Controllers for Dust Collectors

Dust collector timer controllers are devices that automate the cleaning process of a dust collector. These controllers are used to activate pulse cleaning, a process that uses compressed air to blow the dust off the filters of the dust collector.

Timer controllers are designed to automatically activate the pulse cleaning process based on a set time interval. The controller is connected to the dust collector and the compressed air source, and when the preset time interval elapses, the controller activates the compressed air pulse to clean the filters.

#Dwyer has a few options to better protect your equipment in the most cost-effective manner

  1. Continuous Cleaning - The Series DCT500A timer board uses onboard potentiometers to set the on and off time periods for continuous pulsing while the system is operational. This is not the most ideal setup as it is very demanding for the system and can potentially cause damage.

  1. On-Demand Cleaning Control System - Ensuring the system only runs when it is necessary helps to protect the filters and increase their lifespan by cleaning them when they are actually dirty. Limiting the amount of pulsing also preserves the compressed air. Common practice was to pair the Series DCT500A with a Series A3000 Photohelic? Pressure Switch/gage to monitor the filters for dust build-up. To help reduce costs and provide the benefits of on-demand cleaning, the Series DCT1000 with the optional plug-in pressure module was developed. This combines all the equipment into one unit and allows differential pressure lines to run across the filters straight into the timer board.
