Time to Conspire to End Israel's Genocide

Time to Conspire to End Israel's Genocide

Given the recent debacle of Motorola pager detonations in Lebanon by Israel, it is about time we start thinking of how to organize and use our own agency and collective power and knowledge to confront Israel.

As any football team will share about strategy, the offence is your best defence - we can't keep being a step behind - and picking up the pieces - of people - in the wake of Israeli terrorism.

A bully will never become kind: anyone who has grown up in a household of bullies can attest to that.

Israel is no exception, so appealing to their humanity or their supporters' collective humanity is an absolute waste of academic power, knowledge and agency.

Instead, we need to take liberation (= peace)seriously.

We need to fight back by controlling the access to resources that these bullies have.

We have to figure out how to collectively put aside our differences and hit Israel where it will hurt them the most and starve their source.

We need to organize and conspire. ACTIVELY.

We are not victims and hostages of reality.

Enough.

If we do not radically choose and prioritize liberation collectively, we are severing ties with our own compassion in lieu of our curiosity. We are choosing to be passive observers. We all have one life, how can we stop this IMMEDIATELY?

This is a thought exercise - you and I need to think big and think outside the box - because nothing is more expensive than the cost of a human life.

Is Israel in any way, shape or form supporting the polio vaccinations in Gaza? If so, we need to ask ourselves why this is so and find a way to leverage the power.

Can we weaponize public health crises in a conflict as an effective strategy to prevent further genocide?

Can we come together as global health scientists to find ways to protect the human rights of the people of Gaza?

Start questioning, start asking, start fighting back against what we have taken for granted, start pushing forward by engaging in enraging dialogue, and start moving in ethically precarious directions - this is the only way - through us.

The only decision we can make is whether to continue to publish and write furiously in echo chambers of abstraction or to act, to disrupt, to conspire.

What can we do that is unethical but essential to put the lives of Gazans above the health and safety of Israelis right now?

It is a zero-sum equation.

We are running out of time.
