Time For A Change in Thinking

This article is in response to the lack of linkage written in to pitches of planetary concerns, i.e. climate change, for start-ups as opposed to only addressing human issues such as: battery storage, AI, and fintech. VCs, Angel Investors, grants from philanthropic organizations, and the government fail to realize that time is running out.

The only time left is to try to play catch up on what the last generation did not do. I will be using my climate change concept as a subject for the example. How linkages can be developed between planetary concerns and human issues in the same grant or funding pitch.

Having written this pitch, I am a firm believer in the concept of small early warning systems for extreme weather and environmental changes for communities as “defense in depth”. With the ideal that every human settlement can have its own system linked to adjoining communities, this is not just a “last mile” concept. This could be as common in communities as traffic signal systems are today.
