Timberlyne and Hundegger Commission the Most Advanced Robotic Mass Timber Machine Line in North America

Award winning companies Timberlyne Group and Hans Hundegger AG announce the commissioning of North America’s most advanced #masstimber #CNC machine line.

Located in Boerne, TX, the 42,500 sf Timberlyne facility is the new home to the first Hundegger #RobotMax, which will significantly increase their market reach into mass timber.?Mass timber is a fully renewable, structural building element that sequesters carbon for a building’s life and can be used in place of steel and concrete in buildings up to 18 stories.

Steve Shrader , business development at Hundegger AG worked with Timberlyne Group to expand their Hundegger Robot product line to include the Robot Max, which is designed specifically for the processing of large mass timber and glue-laminated beams. This industrial CNC machine can process cross-sections of up to 48” deep x 24” high. The heart of the machine is a 6-axis Robot unit able to process all six sides of a mass timber construction element in one pass, using up to 32 selectable cutting and milling tools. The 29-kW, liquid cooled, Robot unit has an infinitely variable rotational speed range from 0 to 15,000 rpm. In addition, the Robot Max is equipped with a 5-axis sawing, slotting, and marking unit.
