Tillamook Ice Cream
Another beautiful 'Spring' day came and went, and in spite of my not checking to see how warm it actually got, I dare say it had to've been over fifty degrees in the downtown this afternoon. Wowza!
Somehow my morning went by with a whoosh with all the phone calls, drop-ins and out of office appointments, so by the time I had pretty much everything under control, it was already past Noon. Not to worry, because as my dear friend knows, I'd rather be fully engaged with something productive, rather than being heavily weighted-down with free time on my hands.
Speaking of my dear friend, I hadn't talked to her for some days, so I placed a call this afternoon and had a good chat. As always, our range of subject matter is oft-times far and wide, and today I couldn't help getting a little bristly when saying how disturbed I am with many of those in our younger and sometimes older crowd who somehow got themselves politically propagandized, and no matter how much a person tries to reason with them, they continue to remain locked into all the fake truths they've been seeing and hearing on either their 'favorite' news feeds, or from the mouths of their friends, co-workers and relatives. My friend was totally correct when saying there's a certain politician who's similar to a Judas goat where the many gullible get sucked right into his circle. I keep reminding myself of the fact that I must never underestimate the stupidity of the general public, and especially in these times. Oh well, that's about all we can do is remain strong and not weaken.
Most of my afternoon was spent doing some additional research on a property which I'll be inspecting tomorrow, just so I would have enough hard facts to share with the sellers. It's just my first meeting with them, so I'll likely not be listing it tomorrow, so we'll see what their time-line is going to be. It was a pleasant surprise when getting a call from one of the owners today.
Oh did I have a naughty thought today when driving in the downtown and seeing a so-called 'business person' walking into an office, and since I'd had dealings with him in the past, from that point on, I considered him another one who's possessed over making as much dough as he can, and to 'yell' with the rest of humanity. Thank goodness he didn't see me because I likely would've turned away. In spite of the likely few years he has left before he takes his own dirt nap, he'll likely never change until after his last breath is taken.
I definitely wasn't very happy after reading the article in our Globe Gazette this morning regarding our Governor wanting to do away with the AEA which has been doing a great service with our public educators around the State. When I read where she hired a company from out of State and paid them big bucks to do a study on AEA's benefits, she used their data to make her 'politicized' decision to do away with that agency. There's no question in my mind, that's all she wants to do is take down Iowa's Teachers Union which leans heavily Democratic. So getting rid of that agency for political reasons only, which has provided years of great good for our State, is just one more reason I say, "For shame on her!" I was told a hard truth a very many years ago which is absolutely true when it was said that a person can be stripped of all things but one, and that's one's education. So very true.
On the lighter side, while I was at Fareway today to pick up a few things, I happened to notice they had a new brand of ice cream called 'Tillamook' in their freezer which was deeply discounted, so after getting a closer look at the flavors and ingredients, I decided to buy a carton which was called, 'coffee almond fudge', and only because I haven't had even a small sampling of ice cream in months. It was a tough choice because all their flavors appeared mouth-watering.
Well, when I arrived home, I couldn't wait to have a taste, so I opened it for a sample which turned into many samples before I had to put it away. Oh my gosh! That ice cream is on the very top of my litmus taste test, and truth be told, I've always been a connoisseur of really good ice cream, but usually only caving-in to buy it when it's summertime, so if you're an ice cream lover, please go over to Fareway and pick up a favorite flavor of your own. I'm gonna have to pace myself with mine because I don't want to find that I've eaten it all in one sitting.
Tonight's One-liner is: I sure do enjoy my ice cream, as I consider a pint a good start.

1 年Having spent a lot of my life in the Pacific Northwest (where they’re based), I can confirm that Tillamook products are phenomenal. Try their cheeses.
