??????????? Each of us is living in a house that’s aging, called the human body. The Bible refers to our body as a house, the real place we reside. Although we do our best to live healthy, with our body continues to wear out. Paul speaks about our future outside of it, 2 Corinthians 5:1-2: “For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing. Paul writes specifically to believers that the Christian life is real and worth living, even though we can experience suffering and hardship, our troubles are temporary because there are things unseen that are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-17: “So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison.”Christians know we will lay this “tent” aside one day and move on to our permanent home that Jesus has for us. It’s extremely important that we recall this truth, otherwise we will get bogged down living for this world. Proverbs 3:33:“The LORD's curse is on the house of the wicked, but He blesses the dwelling of the righteous” There are, unfortunately, many Christians who fall by the wayside in their walk as a Christian because of some problems they encountered or hurt by something, dwindling in their faith. The Scripture warns us of this, Hebrews 12:1-3: “…. let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.” Have any of us allowed some insult or problem to hinder our work for the Master? Set it all aside, be faithful, for our bodies are wearing and we have but one life to give for the Savior who gave His all for us. Every believer has a work to do for the Lord, no matter how great or small, called to different tasks, and each critical in God’s work. You see, once saved, we begin a life of service to our King, our Lord, Jesus Christ. Isaiah 46:4: “I will be your God throughout your lifetime, until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.” All that really matters when life is over is the question concerning what we did for Jesus. He told us the whole truth in Scripture; there's no love in the world without Him. He has so much more He wants us to know, but we will have to wait 'til we’re home.
