1. TikTok Updates
Live Subscriptions
Back in January, The Information announced that TikTok was testing paid subscriptions and now it is official!
Live subscriptions allow influencers to connect with their superfans and community, bringing interaction to another level.?
As described by TikTok in their blog post:
At launch, subscriber perks will include:
As reported by TechCrunch, “pricing for these streams has yet to be announced, but some creators have shared it’s “comparable” to Twitch’s pricing and the revenue share with TikTok is the same as it is on Twitch.”
Gaming Push
As recently reported by Reuters, TikTok has already begun testing in-app games in Vietnam.?
“A TikTok representative said the company has tested bringing HTML5 games, a common form of minigame, to its app through tie-ups with third-party game developers and studios such as Zynga Inc (ZNGA.O). But it declined to comment on its plans for Vietnam or its broader gaming ambitions.” and “"We're always looking at ways to enrich our platform and regularly test new features and integrations that bring value to our community," the representative said in an emailed statement to Reuters.”
In app games are a great opportunity to grow advertising revenue, in fact “TikTok's games are likely to carry advertisements from the start, with revenue split between ByteDance and game developers, a separate source said.”
Creator Credit Tool
It can be difficult to attribute who the original creator of trends are in the first place, because more than the usual trends go viral!?
Now TikTok wants to solve this issue with a new tool that will allow users to credit the original creator of a trend.

With the launch of these crediting tools, creators will have the ability to directly tag, mention, and credit a video in their description, showcasing the diverse voices on the platform and the strength of our community."
Emma Chamberlain x Levi’s
Fans are missing their favorite creator, Emma Chamberlain, due to her ongoing break from making videos on YouTube.?
ICYM: As she stated on her Podcast “Anything Goes”, she felt burnout and not creative anymore, after putting out content for almost four years nonstop.
But that doesn’t mean she has stopped working. Right after launching two exclusive collaborations with PacSun and CAVA, Levi’s announced on Instagram their brand new collaboration. Is Emma the queen of collabs? Spoiler: we think so!?
