1/5. Can Kick compete with Twitch?
Kick is a new streaming platform that’s trying to compete with Twitch. By offering huge contracts to some of the top streamers on Twitch, it’s already begun to build up a user base of pre-existing fans. xQc reported a $100 million deal, and Kick’s CEO is in talks with Dr Disrespect.?
Hot take: Kick is backed by Stake.com, a gambling website. This means that the platform isn’t particularly brand-friendly. But with some major streamers making the move to Kick (thanks to a combination of lucrative deals and minimal revenue sharing), will the platform be appealing enough for brands to take the punt anyway?
2/5. Social media helps and harms Gen Z
A study from McKinsey has found that Gen Z’s social media engagement can feel negative, but helps them with finding mental health support and connection. Younger social media users reported more negative impacts of social media compared to older generations, but Gen Z also reported that social media improved their access to health resources.

By focusing on building their presence, they boost their potential sales significantly. Check out our blog for more!

Gymshark decided to have a little fun with its customers in London ahead of the Gymshark sale. Using look-alikes of Gordon Ramsey, Ed Sheeran, Kim Kardashian and Harry & Megan, fans were in a tizzy taking photos, and filming the look-alikes in the store. Posts were then shared to social media, encouraging more people to come to the store to get a look of some A-Listers.?
Hot take: We absolutely love this prank. It’s a great way for Gymshark to harmlessly prank its customers and staff, and get its name back in people’s mouths (and on their timelines), just in time for its big sale. You can take a look here!
5/5. North Face releases Global Warming collection
Titled “A? collection that we never hope to launch”, North Face has released a fake collection of clothing items inspired by various environmental crisis induced climates, including extreme heat, extreme cold, and floods. The collection was designed to inspire people to think about the extreme conditions climate change will bring, in the hopes of encouraging people to do whatever they can to stop it.
