TikTok Launches the Improved Creator Rewards Program
TikTok creators, it’s time to level up your monetization game! TikTok has just launched a new and improved program, the Creator Rewards Program, replacing the Creativity Program Beta and offering a streamlined way for influencers to monetize their content.?
To qualify for the Creator Rewards Program, creators must be at least 18 years old, have more than 10,000 followers, and have accrued at least 100,000 views in the last 30 days. Creators must also consistently produce high-quality, original videos that exceed one minute and adhere to Community Guidelines to qualify.
The Creator Rewards Program’s standout feature is its unique optimized rewards formula. According to a blog post from TikTok, videos will be rewarded based on four key factors: originality, play duration, search value, and audience engagement. TikTok advises creators to leverage the recent Creator Search Insights tool to discover popular topics and align their content with trending searches, resulting in greater rewards.?
Alongside the Creator Rewards Program, TikTok also introduced the Creator Academy, offering optimized tools and resources for creators to hone their craft and better understand their audiences. The in-app TikTok Creator tools have also been revamped with a centralized Monetization hub, providing detailed revenue breakdowns, insights, recommendations, and successful creator case studies for further inspiration.

Roblox is leveling up its support for creators with the newly expanded $35 Million Creator Fund, formerly known as the Game Fund. This multi-million dollar initiative not only supports game makers and designers but also embraces developer studios and users venturing beyond traditional gaming realms on the platform. The Creator Fund promises substantial creator grants of at least $500,000 per project for approved participants.?
Roblox’s upfront investment approach prioritizes project funding during the development phase rather than awarding based on post-launch success, empowering creators to kickstart innovative projects. One exemplary project highlighted by Roblox’s Creator Fundis Clip It, a video editing tool by Neura Studios that enables users to create dynamic Roblox-based content similar to TikTok. As it faces competition from titles like Fortnite, Roblox is doubling down on creator monetization, promising developers 100% revenue from certain assets. The reimagined Creator Fund thus solidifies Roblox’s position as a prime destination for sandbox developers seeking substantial support for their unique projects.
YouTube’s New Synthetic Media and AI Content Disclosures
In a recent blog post, YouTube unveiled its latest initiative to enhance transparency between creators and viewers regarding altered or synthetic content. With the rise of generative AI in content creation, viewers are increasingly seeking clarity on whether what they’re watching is genuine, real content. YouTube is introducing a new tool in its Creator Studio mandating creators to disclose when realistic content involves altered or synthetic media. However, content clearly identified as unrealistic or produced using AI for productivity purposes will not require disclosure, according to YouTube. YouTube outlines several examples of content needing AI disclosures which include altering a person’s likeness, manipulating footage of real events or places, and generating realistic scenes of fictional major events. AI disclosure labels for such content will appear in expanded video descriptions and directly on videos covering more sensitive topics. In the official blog post, YouTube emphasizes collaboration with the digital media industry to boost transparency. YouTube also noted that it is developing an updated privacy process for individuals to request the removal of AI-generated or synthetic content. Creators remain pivotal in helping audiences navigate the evolving landscape of AI, with YouTube committed to continual improvement and fostering a deeper understanding of AI to empower human creativity.
