Hold on to your TikTok hats! The platform is about to get a whole lot more advertising-friendly with the latest updates to its Promote feature. That's right, small businesses and creators, TikTok advertising just leveled up!


So, what's new? For starters, the ‘Promote’ portal is getting a fancy makeover with a number of updates around audience targeting, campaign objectives, and post boosting. But the real showstopper here is the "Promote for Others" option. This means brands can work with influencers and throw some money behind their content. And if you're a creator, you can promote other users, brands, or businesses that you just can't wait for the world to see.

But wait, there's a catch! Before you go promoting everyone's posts, you'll need to get permission first. TikTok hasn't given us all the details on how this will work yet, but it could get a bit tricky when it comes to content that isn't sponsored but ends up having the same impact.


“Promote for Others” aside, this update still introduces a number of much-needed advertising features. Advertisers can now target users based on location, age, gender, and interests, and there are even new ad campaign goals, like driving profile visits and direct messages.
