TIGHTLINING: Oui's Term for May

Even if you’re quite adept at applying eyeliner, chances are that when it comes to tightlining,you’re a rookie.

TIGHTLINING is applying eyeliner on the upper waterline and inner corner of the eye.

Wait, waterline ? Huh ? Ok, let me backtrack a bit :

Usually, eyeliner is applied on the upper eyelid very close to the lashes, what is called the ? top lashline. ? For a more dramatic look, eyeliner can also be applied on the ? bottom lashline. ?

Easy enough.

Now, ? waterline ? is the thin, pink line of skin between your eyelashes and your eye. It’s fairly easy to apply eyeliner to the lower waterline, all you have to do is push down on the area where circles and bags appear when you’re tired.

However, applying eyeliner to the upper waterline, that’s probably harder than walking on a tightrope (ok, I’m exaggerating, but not a lot). The upper lid’s waterline is more curved and hugs the eye more tighly than the lower lid’s waterline. Keeping the upper waterline exposed while going for a smooth line and avoiding poking your eye, that’s what I call being in a tigh spot (or rather a tight line). No wonder they call it ? tightlining. ?

TIGHTLINING is not only difficult to do, it’s impossible to translate. That’s why in French we say, ? LA MéTHODE TIGHLINING ? and in Spanish, ?LA TéCNICA TIGHTLINING ?, or ? EL NUEVO MéTODO DE TIGHTLINING. ?
