????? TIER's conquest of ?le-de-France

In?July 2020,?TIER,?Dott and Lime each won a?license?to operate shared scooters?in?Paris (FR). The?German operator has 5,000 scooters in the French capital, but also has worked on developing its shared micromobility services in the outskirts of the city.

In ?le-de-France?(Paris' region), TIER is now operating in a mixture of small urban and rural areas (Chateaufort,?Chevreuse and Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse,?Le Perray-en-Yvelines,?Roissy-en-Brie,?Viry-Chatillon) and business hubs (Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines?- 1,000 scooters, connected with?Saint-Cyr-l'Ecole).

Last week, we learned that TIER just?won a tender to operate in 14 cities of the Saint-Germain-Boucles-de-Seine, with a fleet of?1,000 scooters, taking their total number of vehicles in the?region to around?8,000.

???AMBici, an electric expansion of?Bicing

Bicing, Barcelona's?public bike-sharing?service, is now 15 years old. Clear Channel supplied and operated it for 12 years, until?CESPA and PBSC took over in 2019. With?5,000 bikes and?520 stations, it?remains one of the most successful services worldwide.

Wanting to cover a larger territory and continue to develop cyling in the region, AMB (àrea Metropolitana de Barcelona)?launched a tender for an electric bike-sharing?system. The?AMBici?contract (€40.5m over 8 years) has been?awarded to a joint venture of Nextbike, Movement et Movus, who will operate 2,600 electric bikes across 236 stations over?14 municipalities, starting in Q4 2022.

The two contracts and two different operators/solution providers means that a full integration?will not be possible. Nevertheless,?AMB will?to?implement?'transfer stations'?where both services will be available, and a?specific membership?will be made available so that?people can use both services with ease.
