Is the tide turning?

Is the tide turning?

I love to spend time near water and over this long weekend, we hope to enjoy many walks along the beach. I find it a wonderful time to think and let my mind wander as I plan out my business and life goals.

Running a business community since 2013 in Melbourne I regularly think about how I provide content and opportunities to help business owners connect and engage in meaningful conversations, form deeper relationships and provide the knowledge, support and time for them to reflect and work ON their business.

I do not usually walk alone and am accompanied by my husband, Leigh Powell who is a small business mentor has over 35 years experience in the financial services arena.? Leigh is my rock and is is actively involved in the community, mentoring small business owners too and encouraging them to better plot a course and understand their cashflow and create financial forecasts.

Over the years, Leigh has used many analogies to help me better understand an issue and as I am a very visual person, being able to see things from a different perspective has helped to make sense of things.

Cashflow

?I got to thinking the other day, how the "Tide" a great analogy for cash flow.

?It comes in and goes out.? Sometimes the tide is high. Sometimes it is low.

?Other times, rocks and rips appear and you?have to navigate away from going under.

?And on some occasions, there is a really low tide and it can be a challenge to take the plunge.

When we wake each morning with a walk on the beach, we always check the tide.? Understanding how the tide will affect our journey and destination to remain unscathed.

Business owners who take this approach towards their cashflow ?can be sure to identify any obstacles or risks that could hamper progress.? Making sure you?allow and manage the timing difference between your desired goal and the actual things beyond your control, helps navigate low “tides” and rocky paths so you achieve a proper return on your “effort and risk”.
