Tidal fan-centered royalties launching January 2022
Starting in January 2022, Tidal will include a fan-centered royalties approach to paying artists within their?HiFi Plus?tier. This fairer take on royalty payments ensures that your monthly subscription goes directly to your own favorite artists as opposed to the industry accepted method of allocating it to the most popular artists.
Twitch Launches The Collective for Musicians
Twitch has launched The Collective which is now open for submissions. Musicians that are selected can get access to support, resources and promotion across Twitch. Instrumentalists, producers, rappers and free stylists, singer-songwriters, bands, and music makers across genres and scenes are welcome to apply.
Spotify Charts Upgrade
Spotify Charts has received a significant makeover with a large amount of new features. There's city charts, artist charts, genre charts and songwriter credits. One really cool feature is the ability for an artist or any of their fans to generate a Promo Card, which is a shareable image and link for socials. These can be created with just a few clicks and are ready for social media posting.
Mike Warner If artists and media content producers want to get paid more than pennies for their streams they should look at SoundDrop and read about how new audiobased communication technologies can help independent artists make real money instead of picking up breadcrumbs. The industry is rigid and full of gatekeepers. The system as a whole is archaic and stuck in the past century. Artists have to be the driving force for any change in that industry unless they want to continue being slaves with slave contracts. I've had numerous conversations with famous artist managers and brands and they're either too fucking stupid to understand technology or they're just protecting existing ecosystems that do not and never will have the artist's interests in mind. We help artists take charge of their career and turn songs into literal ATMs. ?? https://audiopayment.com ?? https://vimeo.com/audioalgorithms Watch an example here: https://vimeo.com/525868539/152f46ffac
