Ticking all the Boxes

This week I’ve been in Rotterdam at the TOC Europe event. In the world of end-to-end logistics, ports & terminals play a significant part in ensuring the smooth and safe flow of goods. Many of the trends and challenges we see in the warehouse sector are reflected portside – automation, digitisation, safety, decarbonisation, visibility, labour challenges and the harnessing of the power of AI.

Cost sits above all of these, as always, and with shipping rates currently high, a shipper wishing to control transportation costs is looking to squeeze margins at every stage of the journey by embracing the latest technologies. TOC Europe was a superb platform to learn more about cutting-edge solutions that enable shippers to optimise a container’s route from A to B.

Whether it’s a small box the size of your hand or a shipping container the size of a bungalow, the challenge is the same. It’s just the tools are bigger. ?
