Tia’s Story: The Power of One Moment

Tia’s Story: The Power of One Moment

This week, we hosted an event for early careers professionals, a rare chance to reconnect face-to-face. It’s been so long since we’ve had so many great minds all in one place. It felt fantastic to be surrounded by people with shared goals and a passion for helping others break into law.

While the discussions about AI, the QWE pathway, and the future of early careers recruitment were insightful, one story stood out to me: Tia’s.

Tia attended one of our client-hosted events and shared how a single moment changed her perspective. “One of the attendees asked, ‘How do you respond to rejection?’” she said. “A trainee answered, saying even the smartest people have faced rejection—it’s part of the process. That raised my confidence and belief in myself. I realised I was good enough, but my approach needed refining.”

She stopped sending out countless applications and focused instead on researching a small number of firms. “My success rate skyrocketed,” she shared. “The event reminded me that I wasn’t alone in this—that thousands of others were facing the same challenges.

The Power of Community

Stories like Tia’s remind us why we do what we do. They’re proof of the impact these events can have, not just in terms of insights shared but in the confidence they build.

At AllAboutLaw, we’re proud to support a community that includes 72% from underrepresented backgrounds, that’s 30,000 individuals working towards careers in law. These are talented, driven people who might not otherwise have access to the same opportunities.

And it’s through moments like Tia’s that this community grows stronger. Every event, every connection, every conversation has the potential to change someone’s path, and we’re here so pleased to work with so many wonderful firms that make that possible for our members.

Reconnecting and Looking Ahead

The event reminded us of the importance of coming together. It’s not just about big numbers like 250,000 event registrations since 2020 or 40,000 connections with firms this year, it’s about the individual stories that sit within them.

As we left the room, I couldn’t help but think it’s so good to feel like part of a community again. Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared their ideas, and contributed to a shared vision of making law more accessible. Let’s keep building these connections—because moments like these matter.

If you're from an Early Careers Team at a law firm and you would be interested in joining the other 108 members of our Early Careers Network please get in touch with Billy Sexton . We can't wait for the next event in March.
