Thursdays Thoughts

Thursdays Thoughts

Good Morning Friends,

As Thursday begins, we have many opportunities to manage our day as we need too. I receive and read many inspiration messages each week in my inbox to help me with the message I send out to you each day, one in particular caught my attention and reminded me that although I may be older there are things I still enjoy and don’t make time for. The story is about growing up, I hope you enjoy it and find purpose in it.

“Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.”

~ C.S. Lewis

“If growing up means it would be beneath my dignity to climb a tree, I'll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up! Not me!”

~ J.M. Barrie

Who says you have to Grow Up?

When was the last time you read a book, or read your kids a book, or drove to the library (yes, they still exist) to check out a book? When was the last time you built someone a root beer float; swung high on a swing; skipped a smooth rock at a lake? When was the last time you picked fresh berries, or folded a paper airplane?

When did you last look for constellations in the night sky; tried writing with your toes, or played a harmless prank on a friend? When was the last time you told a knock knock joke to a kid, or tossed a water balloon, or tried to hula hoop, or dusted off your baseball glove? When was the last time you did something you loved to do when you were a kid?

?

Who says you have to grow up anyway? Sure, you have to grow old and you have to be responsible and accountable. But you never have to grow up. You still have a kid inside you and you can call on that kid whenever you want. Try it out. You just might find it's the little dose of happy that was missing in your week.

Thursday’s laugh………

A lady calls the police to report her husband is missing. The police arrive and ask for a description. She tells them he's 6 foot 2 inches tall, blonde wavy hair and has a smile that makes everybody love him. The police then go to the next door neighbor to verify this report and the lady next door tells the police, "You can't believe her. He's 5 foot 4 inches tall, has no hair and he wears a perpetual frown on his face." The neighbor then goes and asks the lady why she gave the police such a false report. She replies, "Just because I reported him missing, doesn't mean I wanted him back!"
