?? Thursdays Gold Rush ??

Each week I sift through the noise and share the golden nuggets that matter from LinkedIn—no fluff, just the gold you need to grow your business.

Here's the gold from this week:

This is gold. Too many founders get stuck in the education loop, thinking they need more knowledge before making moves. But if you’re lost, yeah—learn what you need. Once you know enough, it’s all about doing. Execution beats theory every time.

And here’s where most people fall off: persistence. It’s the unsexy part, but those who stick with it long enough are the ones who actually win. When you’re in the grind, experimenting becomes your secret weapon. Test, tweak, and repeat until something clicks.

It’s a straightforward playbook. Don’t overcomplicate it. Learn what you need, execute hard, stay relentless, and experiment until you get there.

When I first stepped into a leadership role, I thought I had to apply the same rules to everyone. But business isn’t a one-size-fits-all game—and neither is leadership.

You have Boomers, Millennials, Gen Z, all with different styles. One group wants feedback all the time; another wants independence. One person’s creative freedom is another’s worst nightmare. And if you treat everyone the same, you’re bound to lose people along the way.

The real skill? Getting to know what makes each team member tick and adjusting your approach. Ask questions, pay attention to their strengths, and help them do what they’re best at. It’s not about pushing your style on them; it’s about figuring out their style and making space for it.

The best teams I’ve seen don’t just respect differences—they leverage them.

A practical way to deploy this approach is to start with “individual preference” meetings. Schedule short, one-on-one conversations with each team member and ask specific questions to uncover their preferences:

1. Preferred Feedback Style: Ask how often and in what format (e.g., email, face-to-face) they like to receive feedback.

2. Work Style and Environment: Find out if they thrive in collaborative settings or prefer solo work, and try to align tasks accordingly.

3. Growth and Motivation: Ask what support they need to reach their goals and what keeps them motivated.

Document each person’s preferences, then use it to tailor your management style. By adapting how you approach each team member, you’ll see engagement and performance improve across the board.

Completely agree—it took me far too long to realise this. In business, we’re constantly pushing for that next level, but rarely do we stop to ask, “What do I actually want in life?” For any founder, it’s worth taking a step back to consider this.

Our businesses mean everything to us, but is what you’re doing daily truly what you want? If yes, fantastic. If not, it’s time to rethink. Your business should be built around your vision, not the other way around. Don’t become a slave to it—make it work for you.

Being a founder is tough. If you read the harsh realities—like people letting you down, ideas failing, and endless sacrifices—you might think, “Forget it, I’ll stick to my day job!” But here’s the truth: the journey is what makes it all worthwhile.

Each challenge you face teaches you invaluable lessons that shape you into a stronger, wiser person. Those late nights and early mornings? They build resilience. The failed ideas? They provide insights that lead to better decisions down the line.

Don’t let these tough truths scare you away from your dreams. Instead, approach your journey with open eyes. Embrace the struggles as part of your growth. The evolution you’ll experience as a founder will not only make you a better entrepreneur but also a better person.

So, if you’re still in it after reading this, congratulations! You’re already a step ahead. Keep pushing forward—because the hard path often leads to the most rewarding destinations. Keep dreaming big!

€387k for a metaverse party with only five attendees? That’s the kind of ROI that makes you wonder if they just mistook the budget for a Netflix subscription! ??

This is a prime example of “Europe Europing hard.” If they really wanted to engage young people, maybe they should’ve just thrown a BBQ and streamed it on TikTok instead!

The metaverse is supposed to be the future, but if this is how it goes down, I might just stick to my living room parties—way less expensive and guaranteed more than five friends! ????

I focused on #4. Every point is a winner. It always takes longer than we think, the sacrifice can be immense, we're not as smart as we think (and the quicker we realise it, the better our results). The big one for me is change. We must become better versions of ourselves to move to the next level.

Great issue. Collaborating with your employees to figure out their preferred leadership style is key to a well-functioning team and company.
