One of the most difficult things we attempt to do in this life is?change. The reason creating change is so difficult is because there’s a part of our personality that resists it at every turn. I’m sure that each of you can?attest to the mental push-back that always accompanies changes we are trying to make in our lives. I bet there’s something important in your life that needs to change if you want?to find the health,?happiness and positive attitude?you seek. Since it’s our thinking that drives our behaviors, all change begins with our thoughts. The key to creating change in your life and giving you a real opportunity to reach your goals is changing your approach. Jim Rohn once said,?“You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight.”?Here is a list of 5 things you can do to help create the changes you want or need in your life; first choose one thing you really wish to change then follow these five steps:

1.Clearly describe the goal.

2. Break that goal down into 5?workable steps.

3. Clearly define the actions needed to accomplish each of those steps.

4. Create a time frame for implementing and completing the 5 steps.

5. Then take on the mindset of the change agent, who’s charged with managing and supervising this project, and make it happen.

Change happens slowly in a structured, measured and cumulative fashion. I hope you find the information as useful as I have.

THE PARABLE OF THE ROSE?

A certain man planted a rose and watered it faithfully. Before it blossomed, he examined it. He saw a bud that would soon blossom. He also saw the thorns, and he thought, "How can any beautiful flower come from a plant, burdened with so many sharp thorns?" Saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose, and before it was ready to bloom, it died.

So it is with many people. Within every soul, there is a rose. The "God-like" qualities planted in us at birth, growing amidst the thorns of our faults. Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns, the defects. We despair, thinking nothing good can possibly come from us. We neglect to water the good within us, and eventually it dies. We never realize our potential.

Some don't see the rose within themselves. It takes someone else to show it to them. One of the greatest gifts a person can possess is to be able to reach past the thorns and find the rose within others. This is the truest, most innocent, and gracious characteristic of love to know another person, including their faults, recognize the nobility in their soul, and yet, still help another to realize they can overcome their faults.

If we show them the rose, they will conquer the thorns. Only then will they blossom many times over, Our duty in this world is to help others, by showing them their roses and not their thorns. It is then that we achieve the love we should feel for each other. Only then can we bloom in our own garden.

Airport Security

I was scheduled to fly from North Carolina to Germany, where my husband was stationed in the military. As I checked in at the airport, the ticket agent asked me some standard security questions. "Has anyone given you any packages that you didn't pack yourself?" he asked.

I told him that my mother-in-law had given me a parcel to take to her son.

He looked at me very carefully and asked: "Does she like you?"
