Thursday Thoughts: Enjoying Every Season of Your Career

This week is a pretty big milestone for me professionally. We’ve officially completed the merger between Globally Responsible Production and Parcel.ag . With this exciting change, I'm stepping away from my role as Chief Strategy Officer at Ag Partners Cooperative and moving into my new position as Chief Revenue Officer at Parcel Ag. It’s a huge step forward, filled with fresh opportunities and new adventures, and honestly, I couldn’t be more excited.

But here’s something I’ve learned about career changes: they’re always a bit bittersweet. Sure, there’s plenty of excitement about what’s next, but there’s also some sadness because it means stepping away from the close, everyday relationships I’ve built at Ag Partners. It doesn’t mean we won’t stay friends, but it definitely feels different. I felt the exact same way when I moved from CHS to Ag Partners; those friendships continued, but the everyday interactions changed.

Thinking about this makes me realize just how important it is to appreciate every single chapter of our careers. Just like life itself, our professional journeys are made up of different seasons. Each one has something special - unique experiences, important relationships, valuable lessons, and new chances to learn and grow. Even the tough seasons have something to offer us if we pay attention.

Enjoy Where You Are Now

Whether you’re starting something brand new, working through a challenging time, or stepping into your next role, make sure you take a moment to enjoy exactly where you are. Celebrate your wins, learn from the setbacks, and especially cherish the relationships you’ve built along the way. Those connections don’t just make work better; they make life better.

Transitions remind us that nothing stays the same forever, and honestly, that’s part of the beauty of it. Every new chapter is a chance to start fresh, to grow in ways we never imagined, and to build something meaningful.
