Thursday 7pm ET: Join our Blab on Social Intelligence

Number one. If you haven't heard of Blab, you really should check it out. It's a pretty awesome tool and I was introduced to it at the Inbound Marketing Conference last year by Joel Comm. There are a lot of livestreaming apps out there, but Blab is different. It's sort of a live talk-radio meets learning platform. It's pretty simple to use and available on both mobile and desktop.

It works like this: you either initiate or schedule a 'Blab'. You can invite specific guests or just leave 'seats' open for anyone to join (you can approve or reject them). Usually, you set a topic for conversation and then you have that conversation. People can watch in real-time and comment/ask questions, or they can go back and watch your previous blabs. All of this happens in a very easy to use interface, and after you are finished your discussion, Blab sends you your files so you can edit them or use them on other platforms. It's pretty sweet. If you are interested in starting to podcast, it's a great, simple place to start.

So, since I've been interested in adding an occasional podcast element to my Truly Social (TSWT) series, discovering this tool and how easy it is to use made me very happy.

I've been planning to talk about the idea of Social Intelligence on TSWT for a while now, but it's a pretty complex subject. Research, in general, is a broad term and every practitioner has their own process and techniques. I want to make the case for using social intelligence data to create better strategies that lead to better relationships with your customers. So, what better way to do a deep dive into this subject than through a Blab with the founders of some of my favourite Social Intelligence tools?

Joining me Thursday evening will be Tim Burke, CEO of Affinio, Claude Theoret, CEO of Nexalogy, and Marshall Kirkpatrick, founder of LittleBird. All three of these social intelligence tools take a very different angle to understanding your audience, the conversation around your brand (or industry), and the content that influences your customers.

We're going to cover the myriad of definitions of what social intelligence really is, explore case studies on what it can do for your brand, and talk about how data is coming into maturation and research is morphing into something that is incredibly useful AND usable. While 'big data' has been the buzzword for many years now, it has only been in the past few years that it's been accessible to a non-data scientist audience.

So, what are you waiting for? You can access this discussion from anywhere as long as you have your phone or your computer. Sign up to Blab and this discussion to join us. If you are unavailable at 7pm Thursday, I will be editing and posting it in the near future.

Also...let me know if you have any specific questions or topics that you would like covered and I'll try to work it into the discussion.
