Throwback Thursday- Super Story

Looking for a nostalgic trip back in time? Let's revisit the good old days when families gathered around their TVs at 8 pm every Thursday to watch the iconic Nigerian television drama series, Super Story. Even when power outages occurred, we were determined to keep watching, and some of our neighbors would come over to our house to watch the series on a generator-powered TV.

Super Story was arguably the best television series back then, as it was not only entertaining but also educational and inspiring. The show's theme song, beautifully sung by Essence, still rings in our minds:

"It is a Super Story, a life of strife and sorrows,

It is a Super Story of good food & houses where the fish drown or even die of thirst,

It is a Super Story, a life of precious stones & good taste,

It is a Super Story, This is Super Story EEE EEAHH! This is Super Story EEE EEAHH! Story…"  I'm sure you sang along too because it certainly brings back old memories.

But Super Story's influence didn't stop there. The series also gave birth to the popular adage, "We are nothing but pencils in the hands of the creator,"  which became the end line of every episode. These words carry powerful meaning, suggesting that events in our daily lives are predetermined to happen. Decoding their full significance requires substantial knowledge.
