We are kicking off Q4 with a full schedule, jammed packed with industry events, networking and of course a whole lot of fun! ??

I created this newsletter so I could not only serve my industry by keeping all who care informed, but also as a diary for my life. I've been doing the most, if you haven't noticed... and without fail, the valve has cracked open and life is starting to flow steady. ??????

In Q3, I did much of my work from the home office in Charlotte, NC where the mothership resides. This New Yorker is loving the American South and all it has to offer, but assimilation and community are dually required for success in these parts. ????

July 2023 was a scorcher in CLT, but we made the best of it and celebrated my kids birthdays at the pool with family and friends. Dang, 8 and 10 years old - where does the time go? ??

We did quite a bit of bike riding, hiking and other fun activities as a family this summer but my favorite is my annual solo trip to Carowinds with my boy Owen. This year, he's 2.5 inches from riding the big roller coasters with his old man... I nearly bought him platform shoes

(so close) ??

In August, I attended and spoke with my peers on the American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE) #Sustainability and #Decarbonization Leadership group, to gather fascinating insights on how to help healthcare leaders secure the information required to influence their leadership about new technologies affecting the built environment. Each opportunity to serve this community has been better than the last - Thanks for accepting this drain surgeon into the mix!

Aside from speaking at ASHE annual, I collected a great new group of friends who I expect, will be part of my life for a long time. I know this to be certain because, when I landed back in CLT my phone rang from a new friend Chuck Kimble , asking me if I'd be down to go to a concert with him and his daughter, who was checking out UNC campus.

Now, if you know me - I go hard when I'm out... but when I come home, I need my downtime to decompress. Sometimes, you just gotta get after the serendipity life gives you and power through, I promise it's worth it. So that's what I did, I went to my first EDM concert and let music and good company steer for a sec. ?? Thanks Chuck!

September came and went - The kids have now been back to school for a few weeks (Thank you ??) and we are getting back into the groove. Not before we hit the Annual back to school monster truck show as we do each year, living in NASCAR country! This is a tradition at the Charlotte motor speedway dirt track, so don't sleep!

The main event: IAPMO Conference was a huge success along with the RPA meeting sessions - Thank you to all who supported! ??

What's next for Q4: ??

This is where I get busy again and get back on the road for a few key industry events. ??

In late October, I'll be giving a talk called "Data Driven Business Operations using Artificial Intelligence" to a group of plumbing and mechanical contractors and industry folks at PHCCConnect 2023 in Cleveland, Ohio. I've been working on this talk, for quite sometime and each time I think I've got it complete, the AI community builds something new and groundbreaking. I'm excited to give this talk here and at other events this year and I suspect, there to be many questions related to the future of AI. ??

November, Im off to the left coast for some committee meetings at IAPMO HQ West, which I expect to be one of my last trips for 2023.

The winter is nearing but that means we are getting closer to AHR in Chicago, IL this January. The Radiant Professionals Alliance will be hosting 7 hours worth of education tracks, meeting sessions, exposition booth and more. Let's link up at AHR, January 22-24 2024 in Chicago. and have some fun!
