Through Today’s Lens: The Model of a World-Class CHRO: Chapter 2

During the past five years, the business landscape shifted in unprecedented ways.?Relatedly, the resulting dynamics impacted the role of the CHRO and elevated what “great” looks like.?
In response to these shifts, Gartner's CHRO Global Leadership Board (CGLB) developed the Model of a World-Class CHRO: Chapter 2, in partnership with several CHROs.?Like the original Model published in 2017, “Chapter 2” upholds the goal of driving business results while reflecting a new lens with today’s context.?
An open-source and CEO-validated framework, “Chapter 2” re-evaluates the CHRO’s key roles and sets the standard for what it means to be a world-class CHRO today.?Evolving stakeholder expectations, transformational changes in how we work, and the competition for critical talent are just some of the dynamics presenting new challenges for today’s CHRO. ?“Chapter 2” also offers several compelling use cases, including developing CHRO successors, and helping business leaders understand the distinct roles of a world-class CHRO.
I’ve had the privilege of working on and learning from the project teams for both Models. As we move through the coming years, I’m excited to see the impact of “Chapter 2” as it offers new and impactful opportunities for current and aspiring world-class CHROs.
