THROUGH THE MAGNIFICENT WORLD OF PERFUMES

Well, let me reveal a secret: THERE IS NO PERFUME WHICH WILL LAST 24 HOURS. Depending on the concentration type and some other factors, the fragrance can stay on the skin maximum 12 hours, BUT it might stay on your CLOTHES for even more than 24 hours.

Based on my investigations and experience, I will share #PerfumeTips useful for everyone, regarding the projection and longevity of fragrances ??

So, first of all - what is longevity and what is projection? The #Longevity of any perfume indicates how long it will stay on your skin. You need to note that the only way to check the longevity is you skin: simply spray the perfume on your wrist, DO NOT RUB IT, and check how long it will stay on your wrist. If you spray the perfume on your clothes - the smell will stay much longer though the actual way to wear a perfume is the skin - on your pulse areas in particular (neck or wrist).

#Projection indicates how long your perfume will be smellable by people around you and from what distance. That is the reason many people are asking for a perfume with a strong #trail - and here is the word for the smell which you leave while passing by someone.

Projection usually is not very strong if you prefer #Fresh or #Floral fragrances, and it does not depend on performance: a perfume which lasts 8 hours on your skin, does not always project 8 hours as well. Your perfume is mostly odorous during the first 1 or 2 hours after application, while if the longevity is good, people will still feel your scent YET only from a close distance.

And the question is: how to choose a right perfume which will be long lasting?

First of all let's learn about the concentration types:

? Eau Fraiche - This is a fragrance with the lowest perfume oil concentration - maximum 3% perfume oil, which means that it will last maximum 4 hours on your skin, yet it will have a better performance on your clothes. Eau Fraiche is perfect for hot summers when you don't need a heavy smell around you, as well as for workouts.

? Eau de Cologne - Another low concentration type, still unlike Eau Fraiche which illustrates fresh, aquatic notes, Eau de Cologne represents classic, even old-school type of scents, based on maximum 4% perfume oil. Despite the low concentration, Eau de Cologne is usually quite long-lasting as the components and notes of the fragrance are more intense /Woody Aromatic notes, Spices or Oriental edges/

?Eau de Toilette - One of the most common types of a perfume is Eau de Toilette which has around 10% perfume oil and lasts up to 6 hours. Yet, this variant can impress you with its longevity on your clothes, and very often the EDT version has a brighter smell and a better projection than the more concentrated types.

? Eau de Parfum - If you need your fragrance to be more long lasting, always choose the EDP concentration type. It contains around 10-15% perfume oil and tends to be much more long lasting than EDT. The longevity of the fragrance is maximum 10 hours on the skin and much more on clothes. Depending on fragrance notes, the longevity slightly varies: you will find EDP for women more than for men just because men's fragrances are usually stronger and deeper while soft and elegant Floral accords are the main ingredients for women's perfume.

? Extrait de Parfum - Thicker, deeper and more intense, Extrait de Parfum has an outstanding quality in terms of both performance and projection. In this case the perfume quality is much higher, and the smell is more intense. Yet, you need to be careful if you are not a big fan of strong smell surrounding you.

? Parfum /Pure Parfum/ - Made with around 35-40% perfume oil, Parfum has the strongest concentration thus having a higher price and definitely a higher quality. Enveloped in a thick, deep fragrance cloud, pure parfum lasts around 12 hours on the skin, gradually unfolding and revealing its beauty.

Taking into consideration the above information, we need to remember that even though there are common rules and facts about perfumes, still many exceptions are there due to many factors especially when we talk about fragrance families: the stronger the smell, the longer it lasts. That is the reason we can easily smell heavy fragrances on our friends and colleagues but we do not always notice elegant and sophisticated scents around as they have softer vibes.
