Through the Looking Glass
Change the outcome by changing the perspective
A wise man once said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.
I recently took part in a team building event with my colleagues, where I experienced the frustration of “banging my head against a wall”, had to think fast on my feet and look at things differently, in order to get through the challenges put in front of us.
We went to an escape room and, for those acquainted with the concept, that requires a lot of clue searching and looking at things from all possible angles, in order to solve riddles and ultimately escape from a locked maze.
Sound familiar?
Well, if you’re working in MR (like myself), that’s probably what you do all day, every day – it almost didn’t feel like I left my day job!
It still felt new and exhilarating. Really (and I mean really) looking at the fine details, suddenly getting that “ah-ha!” moment when a solution clicked in my head, it ended up being the most enjoyable evening out with the people I share my 9-to-5 life with.
It got me thinking – how can I bring that quick shift of perspective into my work, ensure that I’m really getting all the information to make an educated decision and deliver quality data to my stakeholders?
I’ve decided to start with video.
What will you start with?
