Thriving through Circumstances... 3 Steps To Go From Surviving To Thriving!

"Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth happens while you're climbing it." -- Andy Rooney

People often desire a millionaire lifestyle while living a poverty mindset. Desiring to achieve big dreams is healthy, the unwillingness to do what it takes to achieve your dreams crushes the opportunity to reach them. We need to be willing to run the race and not sit at the starting line and wish we were at the finish line.

… the possibility of victory needs to outweigh the potential of defeat.

The resistance to take the journey is often crippling. Looking at the finish and envying those who are moving past you is not going to change your mindset. Changing your mindset is essential to achieving your dreams. As a racecar driver pushes all the limits to reach the finish line, the possibility of victory needs to outweigh the potential of defeat. The temptation to resist the risk of not reaching the goals diminish with the visualization of obtaining the reward. The question is how to go from just surviving in life and move to thriving in life.

There are three steps required to go from surviving to thriving:

1. Decide to take the first step. The quicker you stop thinking of reasons you can't make it and take the first step, your life will immediately take a turn in the right direction. Procrastination is just an excuse to stay put. Nike as campaigned for many years, " Just Do It!". Decide to do what you know what you need to do, when you know you need to do it whether you feel like it or not.

2. Understand the Value of your Dream. When you see the value of your dream, you will desire nothing else. Focus on "Why" you are pursuing your dreams. Just pursuing dream is not enough, you need to understand why it is important to get where you know you need to go. Knowing the value will give us the energy to pursue our dreams, knowing why your dream is a value gives us the passion to continue when we feel we are unable to continue.

3. Measure your disappointment. The number one reason for the resistance to move toward goals is because you are not disappointed enough to change. If the disappointment is not unbearable enough to make a change, change will never happen. You will stay in the place you are most comfortable, when you decide you want your dreams more then you want your current situation, that is when your resistance decreases and you move forward.

If you want a millionaire lifestyle, have a millionaire mindset. Emulate what successful people are doing each day, discipline yourself to do what you know you should do, and put one foot in front of the other regardless of what the circumstances around you leads you to believe. When you believe you will succeed and not listen to the circumstances, success happens.

The temptation to resist the risk of not reaching the goals diminish with the visualization of obtaining the reward.
