Thriving as a Leader in Your Environment
InnerWill Leadership Institute
Better Person. Braver Leader. Wiser World.
Have you ever noticed that certain environments bring out our best selves? Those environments are more conducive to our growth than others. Which is why, as a leader, it’s important to pursue those ideal environments.
Environments can be jobs. They can be cultures. They can even be the people you surround yourself with. Environments can be as big as the city you live in and as small as your cubicle. Ultimately, ideal environments are those just-right places that allow us to be amazing.
And here’s the thing: Pursuing ideal environments does not have to be all or nothing. You do not have to quit your job and leave on a 12-month around-the-world odyssey. You can make small changes:
Wondering how you know if you’ve found the ideal environment? Check your emotions. Are you generally happy and satisfied? Or are you emotionally hijacked, unhappy, and unsatisfied? If it’s the latter, chances are the environment does not fit you.
There may be a better place for you—and it’s up to you to go find it.
