In a significant move for the social value industry, we are delighted to announce that Danielle Aberg has assumed the role of Head of Social Value at Thrive.
Danni arrives at Thrive with a wealth of social value experience, most recently residing as the Head of Social Sustainability at BAM where she led the delivery of over ￡260 million of verified social value in 2023 alone.
Danni has spearheaded social transformation programs and played a pivotal role at WEPCO, the Welsh Government mutual investment model. She was instrumental in the establishment of Wales’ most impactful Women into Construction initiatives and? also had significant input into social value alignment with the European CSRD.?
Thrive customers can look forward to working closely with Danni to amplify their positive and sustainable impact on society. Her mandate is clear; to empower Thrive’s clientele to integrate social value into the fabric of their organisations.

Recently Converge Technology Solutions UK partnered with the University of Manchester for their ‘IT Kit Amnesty Week’.
Students were able to drop off unwanted and unused electronics – even chipped and cracked items – for repurposing and recycling with Stone Group to aid the university’s contribution to a zero-carbon future.
This year Gleeds launched their Social Value Champions network - 34 passionate employees working with local VCSEs and schools across the UK to deliver social impact in the communities in which they work.
Activities included volunteering, sponsored sleepouts, work experience placements, Easter gifts, charity support and much more. Its an impressive amount for a small number of people in just 3 months.
During the Easter break, the Lagan Aviation & Infrastructure team working at RAF Wittering created a nice surprise for the children at Wittering Primary School to return to.
They refurbished the play area which had become unsafe including the removal of dilapidated wooden shelters, ensuring that the children now have a safe area to play and explore. What a nice treat to see on the return to school.

A new framework offers metrics for the social value of individual real estate developments, looking to quantify the “S” in ESG for developers and investors.
Metrics include things like access to refillable water, green spaces and daylight, accessibility of bathrooms, number of first responders and more.
The Bread and Butter Thing goes beyond being just a food hub for the thousands of families across its 90 UK hubs, they also create a space to get together for a cuppa and provide talks on topics like cooking, budget shopping, mental health and social housing.
The idea is to reduce social isolation, build stronger communities and provide routes out of poverty.
The 2024 update to the Impact Evaluation Standard is live and includes new and extended metrics for our customers to use when accounting for their #socialvalue.
Our metrics and proxies are reviewed annually to ensure social value calculations remain current and credible, a vital element for organisations wanting to authentically share their social impact stories with the world.
Not only are there updates around the #genderpaygap, #workforcediversity, #biodiversity and #communityinvestment, but the 2024 review has also included an industry-leading 'Workforce Composition' benchmark.
