Three Years of Thanks

Having just completed my third successful year at S&P Global in the private credit space, I realized that I have some long overdue thank you’s to pass along for the outstanding people with which I have been working.

Six weeks into my new role (Jan ’21), our Middle Office Trade Closing business witnessed a 63% increase in volumes and has not looked back.? Kory Doan has been leading this group and was my partner in redesigning the platform and operating model for this business. In 2023 we posted a 94% productivity improvement and topped the industry leaderboard for settlement times.? There is an amazing crew supporting our clients in this group – well done!

Nicole Williams has been our guru and a masterful manager through these this transformation of private credit.? She and her team put forward the first definition of private debt within the market and partnered with our development team to proactively identify client processing exceptions.? The transparency and insight in 2023 has been superb.

Nitin Aggarwal has been our development lead for many of these initiatives and his team’s ability to execute has never ceased to amaze.? Along with the RPA initiatives led by Jay Cawyer, the teams drove a 23% overall efficiency improvement in 2023 and exceeded their board-level cost reduction improvement targets.

Ed Leo created our Compliance Services business and it has been my pleasure to see his team facilitate 40-60% annual growth in supported CLOs over the past three years. Most impressive was the extension of the business to EMEA and the support of nearly a dozen new clients which would not have been possible without the 2021 creation of our Manchester, England team led by Ben Ramsden.

Jerry Smay likely gets the Courageous Lion award for 2023.? 100% of his management team took internal mobility opportunities and he has rebuilt the team with great talent, strengthened transparency and controls and even put a new processing program in place on the last working day of the year. ?

Chris Bassi has put his expertise to great use, initiating the foundations of our continuous improvement program.? Vaibhav Gupta has launched our employee feedback platform and process review committees. Baylie Rast has given our client-visible Management Action plan structure and created new education and information sharing programs across the teams.

The list cannot be complete without a shout-out to my colleague, Erik Woodling who tripled our STP rate in the most recent Quarter End processing cycle and has been such a true partner on so many levels.?

Final thanks is reserved for mi hefe, Zion Hilelly.? You always ask the right questions, fight for your team and never let me settle for any aspect of the status quo.
