Three ways we can express Love to our clients?

February 14 is quickly approaching and many of us in the United States celebrate the holiday Valentine's Day. This holiday often reaches sales in the Billions...yes Billions so I thought let's explore how we can cash in on some of those sales. This is where strategy is soo important to our success. Many businesses receive high sales because they prepare for this holiday in advance. So as business owners, how can we generate income from Valentine's Day this year? Although I believe there are many ideas, let's just begin with 3 ways to incorporate Valentine's Day in our marketing strategy to increase your sales this year.

  1. Re-engage with old clients or leads with a holiday card such as the one above or an email campaign "Love is in the air and we miss you." This is a perfect way to make a connection and update contact info while staying top of mind on one of the biggest retail holidays. Often times when we have not communicated with clients it is challenging to find ways that are comfortable to re-establish the connection so this is a wonderful and thoughtful way to accomplish that objective.

2. Share the love with promotions. Two of my favorites are Buy one and share one, and a Free gift with purchase. This can promote your clients to share with others within their network because they are getting something at a discount on Free. This works to promote great energy that is immediately transferred to others when they give to someone else. In addition, a great way to offload some of your seasonal items or programs. You can also gamify these promos with a contest with an unique hashtag campaign #75love . You can ask that your clients tag you and use the hashtag and the winner can be announced on Valentine's Day either Live or in a Private group.

3. Create a VIP experience or event for your clients. You can collaborate with other local businesses on items. You could send a special box with champagne glasses and chocolate. You can send silk flowers in all products mailed before Valentine's Day. Lastly, you can create a special in person "Dessert for my SWEET clients" event and get items from a local baker for the event. So many ways that you could put your own ideas into play. The main thing to remember is that as a business owner we need to convert our clients to seeing us beyond a business to a friend. This is accomplished successfully when we stay top of mind at all times and weave our presence into their daily lives.
