Three Ways to Use Steel Channels
Steel channels are versatile products that are available in different sizes and thicknesses. As seen in its cross-section, it has a vertical web with horizontal top and bottom flanges. Compared to other structural steel products, such as I-beams, steel channels are lighter and slightly more flexible.
Other types of steel channels have bolting holes or perforations, and others have a tiny ridge on the rear to further strengthen rigidity. In their most basic form, steel channels provide high structural strength, making them ideal for frames and bracings.
Steel channels are commonly used in the manufacturing of critical and robust components of machinery or structures. Have a look at four of its common applications.
1.??????Walls
It's standard?for most metal buildings to have walls that are primarily supported by steel channels. Steel channels are popularly used for the construction of garages, workshops, and warehouses.
2.??????PEBs

Steel channels are used to construct commercial, industrial, and residential structures, along with I-beams and other steel products. Among other things, the steel channels can be used as girts, studs, bracing, and joists. Steel channels are utilized whenever the increased strength of I-beams is not required. Steel channels are usually the main supporting component that gives strength and sturdiness throughout the construction and is welded, bolted or riveted in place.
3.??????Door & Window frames
Steel channels are used to create strong window and door frames. It is suitable for use in both wooden and metal frames. Its smooth surface allows for sliding doors and windows. When compared to hardwood frames, steel channels are a considerably safer and more viable solution. Basement doors and commercial fire doors frequently have steel channels in their frames.

2 å¹´Yes , Right there always higher bending moment of inertia as compared to conventional structure steel products. I = (bd^3)/12 But one More thing in this snap we using channels that is made up of bending just by cutting steel plates but it's better to use ISMC instead of bend cold processed channels. They are also better because good comapnies like B5 they uses steel plates more than the 355 MPA yield strength which is far better than the hot rolled channels.
