Three Ways to Bring Groups Together More Collaboratively

Whether you work as a project manager or in any group setting, you understand the need to bring groups together more collaboratively. For decades at CG Infinity, we have been working with clients on how to do just that. Here are three ways we have found to create a successful collaborative environment:?

?1.????? Find the right group right away

One of the biggest mistakes clients make is not bringing the right people together at the onset of a project. We advise clients to think through the project and all of its stakeholders at the beginning. Then ask those stakeholders who they think are missing from the project. Index on inviting more stakeholders to get started, then you can shorten the list later as needed.?

2.????????????????? Align on a common goal

Once you have the right group of stakeholders together, take the time to think through the common goal. Understand how this goal will impact each stakeholders group both pro and con. This will make sure that you have buy-in early in the project. Designate someone that will be responsible for the project who can help assess every element of each stakeholders viewpoints and come up with a common goal for the project.?

3.????????????????? Hold teams accountable

The third and most important step is accountability. Hold each stakeholder accountable for their specific part of the project to ensure the project is a success. Outline specific success metrics for each stakeholder group. The person responsible for project oversight needs to hold the stakeholder groups accountable on a regular basis so that all know when course correction when needed and how that may be accomplished.?

We hope this helps you think through collaborative project work. At CG Infinity, we do this work across a myriad of industries to help our clients successfully complete key projects for their organizations. If this is of interest, get in touch with us at?https://cginfinity.com/contact.
