Three Ways To Breakthrough Your Groundhog's Day

Groundhog’s day. If you're not familiar with this phrase, it is from a movie where the actor, Bill Murray, lives the same day over and over again. Art mirrors life. There is an aspect of life that includes boring mundane aspects.?

I had a trainer who once told me that the majority of people basically eat the same types of foods everyday. If you're a meat eater there’s chicken, beef or fish. If you're a vegetarian there’s a little more variety, but most people stick to their favorites. What makes the meals interesting is the preparation. The thought. The seasonings. The company. It’s not about doing the same thing, it’s how you do the same things. If you’re stuck and your attempts to get unstuck are not working out, take a deeper look. Go beneath the surface. Look under the hood. You’ll find what you seek begins with clarity, unfolds with meaning and comes alive in purpose.

Begin with Clarity

One of the greatest teachers was Jesus. Whenever people came to Jesus he asked them questions. He was a master questioner. I often wondered why someone who knew the heart and thoughts of all human beings, ask them what he already knew. Jesus understood our design. One of the greatest gifts we have as humans is the individualized intelligence that operates through us from Infinite Intelligence.?

What separates us from inanimate objects, plants and animals is our ability to think. Every human is responsible for the way they use their ability to think. In seasons of life when you feel stuck you must do your own thinking to arrive at the solution. I’m referring to the thinking of the heart. The inward way that connects us to our Source.?

The way of reflection that is guided in love, acceptance. When you think without judgment and condemnation, in your moments of stuckness it’s the perfect opportunity for awareness. Stop doing what you’ve always done. Connect with God. Allow the questions to lead you into deeper understanding. So often we are looking for someone to give us the answer. The answer is within you. When you create space to ask questions and seek the answers. You will always arrive at a place of clarity.Take responsibility for your experience of life. Clarity is available to you. All of these are divine cues. Accept this place of stuckness as an invitation to go deeper in order to discover your highest best self.

Unfold With Meaning

Many of us go through life doing things that we really don’t enjoy. We settle in our careers, relationships, obligatory commitments are the norm. The underpinning belief this is the way it is. So we accept what is given and agree with false narratives like? “Follow the path of least resistance.” “Do what is predictable and safe” “Be grateful and don’t complain”. Not realizing that you’ve been conditioned to function this way. Even though it doesn’t light a spark in your life. You don’t enjoy getting up everyday. You sense there is something different.?

There is more. And your spirit is crying out for meaning. We were wired for meaning. Meaning moves you forward. Meaning inspires. Meaning gives energy. Meaning connects you to fulfillment. Pay attention to the dissatisfaction. DOn’t ignore it and settle. Allow meaning to unfold in your life.?

Come Alive With Purpose

Why are you here? I'm not talking about your mission in life to impact one million people etc. I’m talking? about your purpose on a very granular level. You exist to make someone’s life better. What can you do each day to make someone's life better? Ask this question before you start each day. You will be amazed at ideas that come to you.?

How can you make the grocery store cashier’s day better? How can you make the person behind you in line at the post office better? What can you do for the cashier? How can you make the first five people in your contacts life better? How can you make the first person that shows up on your fb profile’s life better?? What about the people that you live with? What about your co-workers? How about your church members? What can you do for your spouse? Your partner? Your children?

Every day I set an intention to have a meaningful interaction with one of the humans that I live with. It seems like a no -brainer but you can get sucked up in the day-to-day and do business as usual with the most important people in your life. A meaningful interaction can be a smile, a joke, a selfless act, unsolicited affirmation, prayers. They don't even realize that this is my intention. They may not reciprocate. It doesn’t matter. I’m living in purpose to make someone’s life better.?

I never feel stuck or bored when I live this way. It expands me. I feel bigger. Better. Fuller. More ideas, opportunities and experiences come to me.

Life is meant to be lived in divine alignment.? Our divinity is the essence of who we are. Love, joy, peace, creativity, joy…these are all ours by divine right. Your dissatisfaction is a shoulder tap from the divine. Inviting you to connect. To realign. Go inward. Your inner world reflects your outer world.? If you don’t like what you see in your world look within. Get clarity. Find meaning. Live in purpose.?
