Three Ways to Achieve Digital Transformation
Digital transformation is a buzzword across the public and private sectors. Every enterprise is looking to increase efficiencies, be more agile in response to market shifts, improve the user experience, and make data-informed decisions.
We know digital transformation is crucial for any organization that wants to stay competitive in today's rapidly evolving tech landscape. So our data and analytics team identified three key strategies to successfully apply digital transformation to enhance day-to-day processes:
1. Prioritize Your Needs
The first step in achieving digital transformation is to understand specific needs within your organization. This involves:

Putting Our Approach into Practice
Earlier this year, we successfully applied these strategies with one of our long-time federal clients. Their team needed to improve its approach to managing speaking engagement, training, travel, and conference approvals.
We hosted a series of sourcing calls with key team members to understand pain points and necessary improvements. Then we shifted to determining what low- and no-cost technology solutions could address this client's challenge. Using existing agency-approved software, we developed a PowerApp tool that allowed prospective conference attendees to easily identify conferences, access application timelines, and submit attendance requests.
The tool was very well-received, with more than 800 federal team members adopting it to track the process for over 200 conferences. And two other branches quickly adopted the tool as well. The result was a streamlined, efficient process with enhanced data visibility for branch leadership to see the status of requests and conduct advance planning with their teams.
This is just one example of a simple, low-cost approach to directly address an identified pain point through understanding a team's unique needs and providing a tailored technology solution that directly meets those needs.
The Bottom Line
Any organization can achieve low- or no-cost digital transformation - all it takes is a little creativity, a lot of communication, and a willingness to collaborate to get the job done. Our strategies not only helps teams of all types and sizes streamline processes, but also foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
