Three Timely Business Tips

It's summer and many people are on vacation:  thoughts of work, sales goals, and budget are shooed out the window like a hungry bee. 

Yet, we are three weeks into the third quarter.  Wow!  This year has gone by so quickly.  If you haven't already positioned your business, it's time to be proactive in planning the remainder of the year.  Here are three tips to get you revved up:

  1.  Compare all your numbers YTD to last year YTD.  How are you stacking up?  Do you need to make adjustments in your work to improve certain categories?
  2. Compare all your numbers to your plan for this year:  both your sales forecast and your budget.  How are you stacking up?  Again, adjustments may need to be made.
  3. Provide TOP NOTCH, Rock Your Socks, beats the competition hands-down, customer service.  If your customers aren't happy, then who is?  You know I care about you and I want you to do well.  This is one of my biggest peeves:  please don't ask me to spend my money if you promise one thing and deliver less; quote one price and invoice more; or, promise a delivery date and then miss it.

Tip #4:  It's time to start accelerating your profits.  The year will close in a blink of an eye.  Your year end statement will thank me: 

  • Increase your sales (hint:  use tip #3 to help you)
  • Decrease your expenses simultaneously (cut the extra "stuff")

You can do this.  I know you can.  Don't let the fun of summer distract you from the joy of prosperity.
