Intro
This week I’ve found some things that are still in research but very interesting, plus a wearable NFT with a hefty price tag.

Your old CD’s could be upcycled into new wearables
?
To be more specific the gold foil in them could be used in the production of wearable biosensors.
Before we go into the how and why, did anybody else know CD’s had Gold foil in them?
?
We now know CD’s have gold in them, but did you know that thin layers of gold are also used in skin-adhered biosensors. Some smart scientists at Binghamton University in New York put these two thoughts together.

Once these wearables are implemented, they are able to monitor electrical activity in the wearer's heart and muscles, plus they're capable of measuring lactose, glucose, pH and oxygen levels. All the data can be relayed to a smartphone via Bluetooth.

Paper Battery
Why do we need small disposable batteries?
Any small electronic device like a GPS tracker, sensors for tracking health and the environment are a few the New scientist.
These paper batteries are best suited currently for disposable electronics and are activated by a drop of water, they are dormant while dry and triggered to produce a current when water is added.
“In experiments, the researchers created a battery from two paper cells and successfully powered an alarm clock with a liquid crystal display at 2.4 volts. The battery produced current just 20 seconds after two drops of water were added.
The battery ran for an hour before power sharply dropped off as the paper naturally dried out. After another drop of water was added, it ran for another hour. The researchers say that the amount of zinc deposited on the paper will determine the capacity of the battery, and that this can be tuned for different applications.
The paper and zinc are biodegradable and would also be recyclable with the right processes.

Wearable NFT’s
NFT’s are everywhere, and the jury is out in the web if they are scams for money makers or the future.
To add more fuel to that fire of a debate, Tiffany & Co are turning NFT’s in to wearable jewellery for the small sum of $50k each, yes $50,000 dollars.
Other brands have ventured into this space like Adidas & Gucci, and now Tiffany & Co, they have launched their own NFT exclusively to cytpopunk owners
The collection “NFTiff’ as its called, will be 250 passes that will be minted when purchased and can only be redeemed by cyberpunk holders as well as artwork that is linked to the jewellery ?
The custom pendant is set to be designed and crafted by Tiffany & Co. artisans, who will convert 87 attributes and 159 colours that appear across the collection of 10,000 CryptoPunk NFTs into the most similar gemstone or enamel colour available. “Depending on which CryptoPunk owners purchase pendants, each piece will use at least 30 gemstones and/or diamonds to create the custom designs with the highest fidelity to the original NFT art,” NFTiff’s website reads. “Examples of gemstones include but are not limited to Sapphires, Amethyst, and Spinel.”
