These Three Things Are Sabotaging Your Job Search

I find that when most people begin to look for a new job or want to make a transition into a new career, they are often confused about:
- How or where to begin looking
- What job to look for
- How to bridge the gap between where they are today and where they want to transition to
- The root cause of their frustration that is causing them to look for a new job in the first place.
This confusion often stems from overlooking one (or all) of these three factors that have a direct correlation to, not only the effectiveness of their job search but also to the trajectory of their career.
Since they don't know how to address the points above, they blindly begin looking for new jobs, and soon find that they are not getting the results they were hoping for.
After months of disappointment and lack of job offers, they often succumb to accepting the first job that comes their way since they don't have any other options.
This is has a DAMAGING impact on your career. By accepting the first job that comes your way - which is probably a job you didn't want in the first place - the probability of you repeating this cycle over again is very high.
In this video I talk about these 3 factors in-depth and how to better use them to your advantage, saving you from the potential of confusion, frustration, and a lack of guidance that results from what we discussed above and instead gives you clarity on how to move forward with a plan of action that aligns with your aspirations.
I describe these 3 factors as:
- Thinking big but Acting Practically
- Big Fish/Little Pond vs. Small Fish/Big Ocean
- Work-life Balance vs. Work-life Harmony <--- (The BIGGEST factor I see)
Once you're aware of how these factors apply to you directly, you'll have a much clearer idea of how to structure your search to set you up for success.
You may find, as my clients often do, that having an effective plan saves you from lackluster results, and instead allows you to secure more job offers that will move the needle closer to where you're trying to go.
